Eddie Hall Weight Loss Diet
He has lost five and a half stone since becoming the World's Strongest Man
As he prepares to face 'The Mountain' Hafthor Bjornsson in the boxing ring later this year, Eddie Hall has shared a glimpse into the seriously impressive weight loss transformation he has undergone.
When Hall won World's Strongest Man back in 2017, he weighed in at a whopping 196 kilograms - or 432 pounds.
A year before that, Hall set a new world record in the deadlift when he became the first man to pull 500 kilograms. Weighing well over 400 pounds here too, the lift took a lot out of the Stoke-on-Trent man.

Blood vessels burst in his face, and fainted over the bar.
Hall needed to be on the heavy side to stand any chance of succeeding in either competition. To fuel such feats, he wolfed down a mammoth amount of food along the way.
When Hall was competing, he was sinking as many as 12,000 calories every single day. Sometimes even 12,500.
He previously told Guinness World Records that his diet plan included:
- Raw steaks
- Protein shakes
- Full English breakfast
- Beef jerky
- 150 grams of cashew nuts
- Litres of cranberry juice
- Milk
- Protein shakes
- Steak and chips
- Salmon and pasta
- Chicken and pasta or rice
- Half a family cheesecake
- Tuna sandwiches
- Flapjacks
- Five or six portions of fruit
- Lucozades
- More cranberry juice
- Carb powder
- Litre protein shakes with full fat milk
- Coconut water after working out to replenish
- Curry
- Spag bol
- Steak and chips again
- The other half of the family cheesecake for pudding
- Protein bars
- Beef jerky
That's just one day.
In order to lose weight and get lean, Hall has maintained weightlifting, but increased the amount of cardio in his schedule. This involves a mixture of both LISS (steady state cardio such as swimming) and HIIT (interval training).
His diet inevitably needed a rethink, too. Cutting back on calories was an obvious recipe for success.
Now, this is everything Eddie Hall eats in a day.
- 7.30am: One apple before morning power walk
- Breakfast: Steak and scrambled eggs (five eggs), one glass of orange juice
- Mid-morning: Whey protein shake
- Lunch: Two large pieces of chicken, rice, mixed vegetables and half a glass of orange juice
- Mid-afternoon: Chocolate granola or punnet of strawberries with Manuka honey
- 6pm meal: Homemade chicken curry, rice and vegetables (carrots, peas and sweetcorn)
- Dinner (8.30pm): Large portion of air-fried chicken, two baked potatoes, asparagus, coleslaw, peppers cooked in butter and half a bottle of mayonnaise
- Evening snacks: Yoghurt, nuts, honey, fruit
It's still around 7,000 calories, but that's a far cry from the hefty helpings of his heyday.
Hall says this has helped him lose five and a half stone since winning World's Strongest Man. He will put his newly-honed boxing skills to the test when he goes up against Game of Thrones star Bjornsson in a boxing match later this year.
The clash with Bjornsson, who played Ser Gregor 'The Mountain' Clegane in the hit HBO series, is scheduled for September.
The pair's bad blood goes back to 2017, when the Icelander accused Hall of 'cheating' as he became the first Brit to lift the World's Strongest Man title for more than 20 years.

The rivalry intensified when Bjornsson recently broke Hall's 500kg world deadlift record - by a single kilo. The Icelander then called Hall out after the max deadlift, challenging him to a boxing match.
